【人物】基迪恩(Giedion)_我們正處於一個矛盾衝擊的過渡時期。(THE END)

Gustave Le Bon (1841~1931)法國社會心理學家，曾說：「我們的周圍，我們只看見一片騷亂，盲目的激動，猶豫的見解，搖擺的思想。」

Giedion所處是承襲以往與邁向未來，兩種傾向相混合而交錯的時代，此時期看來沒有一個明確的前進方向，呈現著各種矛盾衝擊與一片混亂的建築外觀。

但同樣的混亂過渡，對於兩個觀察者便可能產生全然不同的影響。一個人看見的也許只是各種矛盾衝擊的特性，以及互不相容的混亂面，而另一個人也許在混亂之中得以體察洞見其共同發生作用，以開拓新的解決方式的各種因素。要在這兩種見解中確定此一時代的重點，並不是一件簡單的事。

基迪恩系列文章的最後，引述來自法國大革命時代背景所寫的小說「雙城記」的一段話「這是最好的時代，也是最壞的時代；這是智慧的年代，也是無知的年代；這是信仰的紀元，也是懷疑的紀元；這是光明的季節，也是黑暗的季節；這是希望的春天，也是絕望的冬天；我們無所不有，我們一無所有；我們正走向天堂之路，我們也通往地獄之門」重新回望檢視所處的時代，國際、經濟、政策、教育、道德、都市、環境、明天，社會面臨劇烈變動，徬徨又混沌未明的狀態，城市未來發展顯得更為茫然，但也最具洞察與可塑性，或許是最壞的時代，也或許是最好的時代。
